Cut from precise paths, several panels are fitted together to create a slender rectilinear section known as the Vector, which directs light to wash down its inner sloped surfaces, proffering a gradient effect. In reverence of great brutalist monuments, the luminaire reveals slight openings on architectural planes as it plays with voids and volumes. Showing a simple and understandable form, it also emphasizes bold and strong materiality as it is conveyed in either black steel, weathered steel or polished stainless steel. Its raw finish bares its honest and natural state.

The Vector collection, designed by A-N-D co-founder and Design Academy alumni Lukas Peet, shows a confident and purposeful assembly of geometric forms using honest materials to highlight a brutalist reductive concept. The Vector is adapted into several iterations as pendant, sconce, table and floor lamp.

A singular section that is 58 cm in height, 12.5 cm in width, and 5 cm in depth, can be affixed to the wall as a sconce in a vertical or horizontal configuration, exposing its honest and reductionist form.

The pendant three and six are composed of singular steel sections adjoined in multiples by fasteners. When combined, this gives the pendant three a diameter of 22 cm x 58 cm and the pendant six a diameter of 34 cm x 58 cm. The pendants are suspended vertically by an aircraft cable connected to the central hub of the fixture.

The table lamp is composed of three sections 22 cm x 58 cm and controlled by a hand dimmer switch. The floor lamp contains three sections stabilized by a cast concrete base. It is 120 cm in height and 22 cm in diameter, and controlled by a foot dimmer switch.

Every fixture is assembled by hand in Vancouver, Canada by decorative luminaire design studio and manufacturer, A-N-D.

Compelled by the emotive capacity of light to shape and animate space, A-N-D brings expressive contemporary luminaires into dialogue with architectural spaces. A-N-D’s luminaires enliven the human experience, ranging from homes to retail spaces to commercial buildings.
