Can plastic be not only green, but even playful and aesthetically pleasing? That's what was in our mind when we started with Superpop project. The challenge was about beauty in plastic recycled: once verified its help in reducing waste and generate more sustainable products, we wanted to focused on the cliché who retains recycled plastic objects not noble enough to be considered a furniture pieces for all intents and purposes.

So, the journey started from the material before the product: we analyse in deep polyethylene material and we understood that colour and texture would have become the key-feature of this project. We selected different waste materials to create the four Superpop finishes: blue from tank waste, green and black from agricultural industry waste, red from signage waste, and white mainly from lighting sector waste. So, after begin sorted by type, polyethylene came melted at low temperatures, in order to reduces its environmental impact as well as maintaining its characteristics unchanged, for a green, circular approach.

From that, we created a hybrid design expressed in two sizes, making Superpop adapt both for side table, coffee table and stool. A pleasant and sinuous shape, concrete and smart at same time. Superpop it's playful on view and touch: in spite of its appearance, it's super-light and it's so fun to see people reactions we they get in touch with it. Where you imagine it, it is: outdoor and indoor, suitable for different environment, from contemporary office to your shower stall. In this way we have succeed in combine sustainability and design, transforming polyethylene in furniture and ennobling recycling. And, why not, also making it fun.
