SCOPE
In tackling current issues, we can only seize the opportunities of our future if we co-create them together as a team. Therefore, collaboration is the main catalyst of modern, agile and creative work environments. It demands equal values and fosters a sense of community; and moreover, it succeeds when each individual is continuously in connection with the whole. So we asked ourselves: how should collaboration feel spatially?
Modular, movable, adaptable, customisable, resilient and extremely durable and purist. The sum of all our observations and experiences led to a new typology of functional furniture, called SCOPE. SCOPE wants to be pushed, turned and changed. It wants to collaborate, to be involved, to empower and challenge as a supportive ecosystem.
SCOPE is scalable, it can grow and reduce in complexity, come together and split up again, always individually adapted to the task. Each module can be multiplied and combined with the others. 60°-fragments form ever new patterns of harmonious constellations. Whether workshops, team sessions or individual work, its organism-like adaptability makes it an ideal partner with a sustainable effect on the achievement of common goals:
The Roundtable is the center, a nucleus that gathers different actors as equals. It is a playground, a plenum and a supplier. In its center are removable trays for materials, multi-sockets or space to plant a tree. The primal human need for refuge and prospect finds its form in the mobile Bench-Desk. It is both a seat providing shelter and a standing table granting overview for spontaneous meetings. Combined with itself, it forms spatial dividers, environment-shaping seating zones and room-in-room situations.
The Transformation-Wall is an ergonomically adjustable single or double desk. Add-ons transform it instantly into a mobile partition, monitor wall, shelf, blackboard, coat rack or plant bar.
All modules can accommodate accessories for storage and utensils. The modules are separable into their components that can be exchanged for an easy repair or upgrade. The selected high-quality materials make them durable and fully recyclable. However, SCOPE is designed for longevity.
The furniture system is currently used in open, multi-purpose spaces, smaller offices and digital innovation labs. We are learning from their behavioral patterns through module constellations and reactions to improve future applications. The feedback we received so far reflects the positive psychological effect on which SCOPE is based: a truly natural, agile environment that makes it easy to build new ideas.
Working parallel to each other or as a team, in every position or constellation, again and again the furniture modules — as individual parts of a whole — point to the center and subconsciously involve people in their reference.
Ultimately, the idea of SCOPE contributes to a sustainable approach: Timelessness through empathetic adaptability.
