Founded in 2014, Reform has been challenging the traditional kitchen industry by offering democratic and well-designed kitchen designs by teaming up with internationally acclaimed architects and designers. For its latest kitchen, the Danish design brand called upon one of the most recognized creative minds of the modern era, the Paris-based architect Jean Nouvel, to design REFLECT — a functional, yet iconic and dazzling kitchen. Recognizable by its reflective surface, the front is made of melamine faced chipboards (MFC) board covered by a stainless steel sheet with vertical ridges. Available in two finishes (black and untreated metal), the fronts come along with a handle made of anodized aluminum and the recommended countertops is in stainless steel and in Fenix laminate to accentuate and highlight REFLECT’s radiant aesthetic. Through architecture and design, the award-winning architect applied his poetic approach to tell stories and create strong imagery. Jean Nouvel’s talent in exploring and conceptualizing light is strongly present in REFLECT and with this ability, he has been able to transform and create a unique atmosphere to the surrounding of his projects. The sturdy and gloss stainless steel fronts with the vertical ridges project light in a playful way. It gives the design a discreet, characteristic expression and an iconic Art Deco feel. The REFLECT fronts, along with one of the countertops, are made of stainless steel, a durable material chosen for its highly recyclable properties. The use of stainless steel provides a longer life span for the daily use of the kitchen compared to other materials. Another highly durable material, aluminium, was also used in the handles of Jean Nouvel’s design. With its human-centered approach to kitchen design, Reform developed its own innovative and patented cabinet system with an innovative clicking technology that enables to mount the cabinets through a simple act of clicking them together, without the need for any tools. The modular cabinet system is produced with 100% FSC certified wood and a TSCA/CARB-certified material MFC that is manufactured through responsible and sustainable methods. Jean Nouvel and Reform occupy opposite ends of the design spectrum. Whereas the French architect concerns himself with creating ‘visual landscapes’, Reform is dedicated to delivering remarkable, high-quality yet accessible kitchens. What the two parties have in common, however, is empathy with their audiences – a deep-seated need to create pleasant environments where human beings are stimulated and feel at ease. REFLECT is the manifestation of those similar sensibilities converging in a lasting design with a vibrant and inviting atmosphere.
