The 'Ori' lamp is reborn with a motif from the 1930's icon, the Anglepoise lamp made of steel and sheet metal, and the rice lamps popularised in Sweden in the 1970's. Like Flos's Gatto lamp, the Ori lamp is also made of paper and steel frame, making it look like a fairy taking shape in the mist as a small sculpture. The inside of the lamp is filled with small led lamps, which distribute the light evenly through the paper material on the outside.
When I created the Ori lamp, I wanted to illustrate the original type of a desk lamp and make it a kind of light sculpture that provides good light on the table and works as a solitaire. Ori XL works as a floor lamp and really takes hold in a room where it can easily be placed next to a sofa group or all by itself to create a strong identity. In 2024, there will also be a rechargeable mini version (200 mm high) for, for example, a restaurant table, where it will have its own function and identity among the large number of rechargeable lamps on the market. The LED lights are replaceable on the day sometime in the future when they stop working.
