MUSHROOM-FS lives from a refreshingly interpreted cooperage tradition. The minimalist dining table stands on a sensationally beautifully crafted base. Its elegantly floating tabletop is the social centrepiece. MUSHROOM-FS is available in black ash, natural ash and as a PS - private space - side table. MUSHROOM-FS is handcrafted and the art of woodturning. The round table top with 120 cm radius and Swiss edge. 18 solid oak staves, which four powerful hands shape into a 70 cm high barrel, glue together, clamp dry in the lathe and iteratively turn perfectly round.
Finally, the cone and top are sanded, stained black and oiled matt. Dining table MUSHROOM-FS, Family Style, is limited to 50 pieces per colour and exclusively available in the shop of HEILIG OBJECTS. MUSHROOM-FS is a hymn to magnificent oak wood. For the manually turned solid wood table, the designer uses hand-picked knotless oak planks from responsibly managed German forests. The 120 cm wide tabletop round with a Swiss edge tapering to 25 mm at the edge rests in the precise shadow gap on the cone. The top and base are screwed together inside the cone. Additional weights ensure stability and stability here. Burr strips made of steel prevent the solid wood tabletop from warping. Side table MUSHROOM-PS embodies the artist's love of cooperage.
Timelessly true in aesthetics, value and variety, table PS is an island for private space, natural wood bedside table, designer coffee table or round coffee table. MUSHROOM-PS is available in natural ash, black ash and as dining table FS (family style). The designer buys a large lathe especially for MUSHROOM-PS and approaches his design like a wood craftsman. Table top and 18 individual staves for the cone are turned with millimetre precision, intensity and artistry. Then they are trimmed by hand, sanded, matt-finished and finally screwed tightly together inside. Interior artist Daniel Heilig is also a born wood craftsman with heart, hands and brain. The old plank floor in his studio workshop has a carpet of woodturning shavings; it smells of spicy wood, fresh resin and fine natural oils.
For MUSHROOM-PS, the designer uses ash from sustainably managed forests in Germany. He carefully selects the wood according to the most beautiful pattern in order to create visual tension with contrasting grains.
