This honey-inspired lighting fixture provides a gentle, warm illumination that doubles as a disaster preparedness item while bringing color to everyday life. The glass container resembles the form of dripping honey, where you can store honey that can be used as an emergency food source if needed. The container sits atop a wooden pedestal which includes a rechargeable LED light, making it a dual-purpose item that can also be used as a flashlight. While the product is designed with emergency situations in mind, this product is not meant to be stored away for use only during emergencies, but also as a beautiful and functional addition to any home.

This design can play a significant role in society by enhancing awareness and promoting the integration of disaster preparedness into everyday life. Traditional disaster prevention items often end up tucked away and overlooked, but our design bridges this gap by merging daily usability with essential disaster prevention features. It incorporates honey, a long-lasting food source that provides vital nutrition during emergencies, and a built-in LED light in the wooden base, making it user-friendly and accessible to a broad audience. By transforming a typically single-purpose emergency item into a versatile, everyday product, we're making disaster preparedness more practical and less daunting.

Our product seamlessly integrates into both everyday life and emergency situations, thereby eliminating the need for single-use emergency supplies and reducing the associated energy consumption and production costs. The wooden base, crafted from sustainably sourced thinned wood, and the durable, long-lasting glass container, demonstrate our commitment to using renewable materials.

Additionally, the naturally derived honey, which imparts a warm glow to the illumination, can be stored for extended periods and consumed when necessary, further enhancing the product's utility.

Our design adheres to the principles of inclusive design in numerous ways, striking a balance between everyday usability and disaster preparedness, promoting reuse and waste reduction, and championing environmental sustainability. Through these measures, we aim to enrich people's lives while alleviating the strain on our global environment.
