The Eskimo Chaise Lounge draws inspiration from a handmade Inuit dog pull sled dating back to the 18th century. This sled utilized timber, steel, and leather strings to construct a vehicle capable of carrying both an individual and their cargo. I was genuinely amazed by the ergonomic and functional design of this sled. There's a nostalgic and reassuring quality to objects that have been handcrafted and aged over time. When designing furniture pieces, my goal is always to convey this shared sense of reliability and comfort to people.

My admiration for traditional Chinese wood joinery and western leatherwork techniques has always been strong. Combining excellent craftsmanship to create something new has been a personal obsession of mine. The Eskimo Chaise Lounge is a truly unique piece. Its structure is crafted from 5-axis CNC teak wood, with a steel metal frame discreetly embedded inside to provide minimal support. The seat surface of the lounge is meticulously handwoven using leather straps, following a specific order, and then securely fastened with brass screws.
