Aeon could be translated as “age” or an “indefine and very long period of time”.

The essence of this chair is longevity thanks to its steel structure, that should withstand the test of time. The second layer/padding is made of fabric or yarn that is weaved in so it can be changed anytime. This principle allows the chair to be reinvented and reborn when the fabric - padding becomes stylistically outdated or just damaged. The initial idea was to use old clothing or recycled yarn as padding to make the chair sustainable and true to its name.

In regard to the aesthetics and shaping of the chair, using archetypical chair outline came as natural choice. Steel tubes create continuous loops that can be attached and detached in case of assembly and disassembly or as an extension to sofa like composition.

Embracing the motto Ideas & Objects, Stepan Angus Gudev aims to engage the user in a mind altering experience. He views ideas as the essence of the design, while aesthetics are words or a form, with
which the design speaks about its essence to the sensual world. He believes that if both essence and form are well expressed, the user of the design changes for better by altering the mind and body.

His journey into the world of design began during his studies at the High school of Applied Arts in Železný Brod, where he studied at the off-hand shaped hot glass department. Years of bohemian and creative
atmosphere were followed by the studies of Environmental Design under the guidance of professor Bořek Šípek and subsequent work in his professor’s studio. After that he obtained his Master Degree in
Interior Design from Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milano. In the past 12 years he has worked as a lighting designer. Over that time more than 50 of his bespoke design installations were completed worldwide in hotels, retail spaces and private residences. Most of these installations utilize Bohemian
Glass which he knows inside out from his high school studies.

After 7 inspirational years of living in Hong Kong, he founded Gud Gud Studio in 2024, driven by the desire to bring his ideas and experience into life while being sensitive to the context. His mission is to create designs that give meaning and enrich the user through Ideas & Objects.
