Singapore Design Week 2024

Singapore Design Week (SDW) 2024 returns from September 26th to October 6th for an 11-day celebration of the city-state’s unique brand of design and creativity.
Organized by the DesignSingapore Council (Dsg), this year's festival themed "People of Design" showcases the everyday visionaries that shape Singapore society through design, united by their collective aspiration to improve lives.
Expect a diverse range of events and experiences across the island. These include expanded Design Districts at Singapore’s art, design and heritage district, BrasBasah.Bugis; Marina which encompasses Marina Central and the iconic Marina Bay area; and famed shopping belt Orchard Road. These districts will come alive with special commissions, exhibitions, interactive experiences, installations, workshops and more.
Meanwhile, the festival’s three key pillars offer a multifaceted exploration of design's potential:
Design Futures: This pillar delves into the crucial role of design in advancing technology, sustainability, and care. The Design Futures Forum will host prominent speakers like Cathy Hackl, CEO of Spatial Dynamics, and Aric Chen, General and Artistic Director of Het Nieuwe Instituut, discussing these topics.
Design Marketplace: The Design Marketplace features FIND – Design Fair Asia, Asia's leading design trade fair. In addition, EMERGE @ FIND, curated by founding editor in chief of Design Anthology, Suzy Annetta, will showcase over 50 Southeast Asian designers with their works available for purchase. Themed "These Precious Things," EMERGE will explore both internal and external value in design this year.
Design Impact: This pillar highlights innovative and impactful design solutions addressing society's most pressing challenges. A key highlight is the Future Impact 2: Homecoming Showcase, first shown at Milan Design Week 2024, at the Asian Civilisations Museum.
Beyond these pillars, the local design community will be presenting over 70 grassroots events across Singapore, including talks, panel discussions, workshops, tours, and retail pop-up experiences.
