Pedrali’s new outdoor products – a table and two armchairs – usher in the upcoming summer season with functionally and aesthetically enduring design.

Anemos, Guinea, Narì: each is a new member of the Pedrali product family for exteriors. Versatility and durability unite the novelties, which utilize materiality to expressive ends and empower creative design solutions outside. The outdoor designs are a nod to Pedrali’s origins – celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, the brand got its start in exterior product development.

Anemos.

Pedrali presented the Anemos table and two armchairs, Guinea and Narì, at the latest edition of Salone del Mobile under the theme #PedraliBacktoNature. Pio & Tito Toso’s Anemos table design takes inspiration from the wind, with a refined architectural form conceived to enhance the material qualities of concrete. Two concrete shells unite to make the distinctive base which supports a sinuous round or oval top – despite the medium, the design offers a sense of visual lightness.

Cover and above: Guinea.

Guinea – an aluminium outdoor armchair by CMP Design – also embodies lightness, while playing with transparency. Teak armrests pair harmoniously with a seat in waterproof textile mesh and an aluminium frame especially suited to the open air. Stackable and customizable, designers can introduce the piece in a variety of outdoor contexts. The mechanically assembled components also enable easy disassembly for recycling and replacement.

Narì.

The Narì armchair design, meanwhile, is influenced by forged iron chairs from Pedrali’s 1960s collections – a tribute by designer Andrea Pedrali to his grandfather and company founder Mario Pedrali. The designer employed traditional techniques and know-how as well as new industrial technologies to bring the strong steel seat to life. Weather-resistant woven elements in extruded PVC with nylon core wrap around the armrests and back, a reference to Pedrali’s original Serenella chair.
