Orgatec 2022 is right around the corner. Taking place from Tuesday 25 October to Saturday 29 October, the trade fair explores the future of workspaces in regard to issues like hybrid work and sustainability. Here are seven products and events to be sure to see in Cologne.
Onegloss
Fantoni
Fantoni's Onegloss surface is fingerprint-resistant and tactile and will be showcased at Orgatec. The surface can be applied to a number of its office solution systems like desks and flex-workspaces. The matte finish makes it glare-free suiting it to a variety of spaces in the workplace.
The Next Space: The Empathetic Workplace
FRAME x IBA
FRAME’s third instalment of its think-tank, The Next Space will be held on 26 October in collaboration with IBA and will explore an agenda of The Empathetic Workplace. Talks and interactive workshops addressing themes like co-creation, wellbeing, neuro-diversity and technology will be given by industry leaders from companies like Spotify and Gensler. The FRAME team will guide tours throughout the fair, showcasing some of the most innovative work products, materials and technology. Hevea
Pedrali
The Hevea potholder was designed by Victoria Azadinho Bocconi for Pedrali to integrate nature indoors. Inspired by Brazilian rubber trees, the planter system is composed of a central steel stem which pots are adhered to. The plant pots are moveable and can be configured in a spiral or opposite one another, allowing for the vertical integration of plant life without occupying floor area. Hevea is also available as a three-column partition or with a built-in ice bucket for hospitality settings.
Sustainability talk with Wickie Meier Engström
Kvadrat
Kvadrat’s Really director and partner, Wickie Meier Engström will host a talk on sustainability. Discussing the company’s own sustainability strategy, the presentation will also address questions like how can we transition to a no-waste future and how can we achieve circularity while not compromising on aesthetics and durability. During the programme, the Kvadrat Really textile tabletop – made entirely of textile waste – will be unveiled.

Materials4Future
Haute Innovation
Exploring the future of material applications is core to Haute Innovations presentation of Materials4Future. The future agency will showcase material and surface innovations in an exhibition designed by Diana Drewes. Digital surfaces made of transparent wood or textiles with integrated solar modulars, upholstery fabric made of leftover hemp or coffee beans, and acoustic modules made of mushrooms, are among some of the innovative material applications that will be displayed.
Bice
Miniforms
E-ggs designed the Bice chair for Miniforms, which will be presented during Orgatec. A rounded upper backrest and circular seat characterize its slim wooden frame. The chair is available in four wood finishes suiting it to a variety of workplace settings.
New Materiality – Furniture Ecologies
Design Post Köln x Orgatec
Design Post Köln and Orgatec will host a panel of designers, architects and creatives to explore how interior materiality’s integral role in improving the sustainability of our spaces. Hadi Teherani of Hadi Teherani Architects, Tommaso Maserati of Snøhetta, Charlotte von der Lancken of CVDLAB, Ineke Hans of Studio Inekehans, Shawn McKell of Doconomy, and Wickie Meier Engström of Really, will participate in the panel discussion.
