Summer’s temporary, but outdoor furniture shouldn’t be. See new classics from Pedrali

United by the theme #PedraliColoursofLightness when first launched during Salone del Mobile 2024, five new exterior Pedrali pieces represent the brand’s continued commitment to functionality and aesthetically enduring design.

The newest members of Pedrali’s outdoor furniture family are four seating solutions and a rug, each a testament to the brand’s mastery of the outdoor space. Established over 60 years ago, the Italian company continues to underscore its balanced commitment to durability, comfort and aesthetics in its design and production of outdoor furniture.

Philía.

With Pedrali's 60th anniversary still visible in its back mirror, Odo Fioravanti looked back to the company's roots for the design of its Philía seating range, drawing on the silhouette of classic Italian garden chairs from the 1960s. In the new interpretation of the classic chairs, Philía's geometric lines combine with softer horizontal weaving patterns that form its seat and back, packaging physical comfort in the form of a nostalgic design. With their organic shapes and earthy hues, the chairs seamlessly blend into natural landscapes.

Nolita Sofa's new connecting top.

Nolita Relax.

Pedrali's history also informed CMP Design's expansion of the Nolita range, with the Nolita Relax and the Nolita Sofa connecting top as the product line's newest additions. The Nolita Relax revisits Mario Pedrali’s original designs from 1963. Its steel frame boasts a structural and aesthetic design language consistent with the rest of the collection and serves as the base of the generously sized armchair, ensuring the durable comfort Pedrali is known for. The addition of a new solid laminate connecting top is a further elaboration of the Nolita Sofa line, reiterating its modular design. Defined by a steel tube structure that can be freely combined with other modules, the connecting top is available in a rectangular or angled configuration, to facilitate a variety of social possibilities.

Cover and above: Buddy Oasi.

Revisiting another favourite in its product line, Pedrali introduced an exterior-compatible version of its Buddy series designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli. The Buddy Oasi furnishing solution comprises voluminous poufs of varying sizes, which rest on light legs with an organically shaped and freely movable backrest. A ballast and a non-slip fabric base ensure the backrest’s stability and ability to be configured by users for comfort.

Nolita Sofa, Nolita Relax and Twiny.

In growing its offerings of flexibility, versatility and comfort in the outdoor environment, the introduction of a rug collection seemed a natural continuation of extensive outdoor furniture and accessories for Pedrali. These principles guided the design of the Twiny rug collection, conceived by DWA Design Studio. Recyclable, woven polypropylene ensures the high performance of the collection, suiting it to a variety of environments, especially outdoors, because of its resistance to sunlight and weather, easy cleaning and maintenance. The durable piece, available in two motifs, ties any outdoor (or indoor) space together.

Though seasons come and go, the brand's decades-long history assures that its designs won't. Pedrali's expertise in outdoor product development is evident not only in lasting functionality but also in aesthetics, an attestation to its enduring quality.
