The range Mara presented at the 2025 edition of Salone del Mobile was undoubtedly broad, but its true success was in its flexibility – making its use cases near-infinite.
At the Salone del Mobile 2025 presentation, Mara showed a limited-edition version of its Foil Bench.
The traditional boundaries between office, residential and outdoor furniture are dissolving. Why serve one purpose when you can serve many? Italian manufacturer Mara deeply understands this evolution. At Salone del Mobile 2025, the Brescia-based interiors brand showcased an ambitious expansion beyond its contract furniture roots, presenting collections that adapt, shapeshift and reimagine themselves, moving fluidly across scenarios.
Mara’s move toward more adaptable collections reflects a shift that’s taking hold in the industry, one where versatile design solutions are becoming the order of the day. As work-from-home policies continue reshaping spatial needs and consumers seek furniture that performs across multiple contexts, manufacturers must demonstrate fluency beyond single-use categories. The company's ‘Design for All’ philosophy speaks to this newfangled reality; the brand offers pieces that transition from boardroom to living room to garden – and back again.
Argo Libro Metal is a clever folding table that works well in just about any space, even outdoors.
Boundless products featured in Mara’s presentation at Milan Design Week, but a standout was undoubtedly the brand’s new Typo Lounge Chair & Ottoman. Designed by AMDL Circle – the studio founded by Michele De Lucchi – Typo is a resurrection of an iconic piece. The classic refreshed suits workplace, hospitality and residential environments in equal measure; thanks in no small part to its adaptable nature, its sleek square-section metal tube structure and plush upholstery are bound to remain relevant for decades to come. From the height-adjustable Follow Desk Monochromatic to Ferruccio Laviani's modular Elle & Elle Consolle shelving system, each of Mara’s pieces embodies intelligent functionality without sacrificing aesthetics.
Typo Lounge Chair with Typo Ottoman become contemporary icons destined for the most diverse context – workplace, hospitality and residential.
Both functional and beautiful, Mara's Follow Desk is height-adjustable with patented mechanical system.
The presentation was not limited to furniture for interior living. In fact, Mara rolled out a nimble collection of timeless pieces that are so thoughtfully designed, they’d easily integrated into a home or institutional space. The Icon Outdoor collection brings Marcello Ziliani's chair design outdoors, using a durable polypropylene construction and removable waterproof cushions. Cleverer still is the Argo Libro Metal, a mono-material folding table with patented closing mechanisms that reduce space occupancy by half while maintaining outdoor suitability.
Beyond outdoor-friendly textiles, material innovation actually drives much of Mara’s approach to design. New finishes explore warm, natural tones, including shades like brown and matte cipria. Christophe Pillet's Foil Bench, presented in limited edition with Antolini marble contrasting against metal structure, exemplifies this approach through thoughtful material juxtaposition.
The Elle & Elle Consolle shelving system comes in a variety of rich but subtle hues.
As living patterns become increasingly fluid, furniture must perform across contexts while maintaining design integrity. Salone del Mobile 2025 showed that adjustable, translatable projects are often the most interesting. Brands that want to remain relevant must design for the modern – flexible – world. Mara’s expanded collections prove that versatility, rather than limitation, drives is the real mark of luxury.
