Alessandro Ranaldi, head of workplace consultancy at Foster + Partners

Based in London, Alessandro Ranaldi is head of workplace consultancy at Foster + Partners. With more than 25 years' experience in workplace strategy, real estate and design, he has worked with leadership teams of some of the top Fortune 500 companies to help them create a vision, and build ownership of changes to the workplace and behaviours to improve colleague experience, engagement and business performance. As well as undertaking public speaking engagements, Alessandro has taught workplace strategy at IED and at Polytechnic University of Milan.

Apoorva Shroff, founder of Iyth Design

Founder and principal designer of Mumbai boutique architecture, interior design and product design firm lyth Design, Apoorva Shroff has worked in the field for over a decade. Since its inception in 2022, Iyth Design has had a growing roster of noteworthy clients like Prestige, Supreme Builders, Jindal Poly Films and Central Square Foundation. Shroff pursued an undergrad in architecture at Kamla Raheja Vidhyanidhi Institute of Architecture, Mumbai, followed by a postgraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

David Kulen, creative director of Powerplant

The creative director of Dutch workplace design studio Powerplant, David Kulen and his team collaborate with the likes of Booking.com, Nike, PwC and Miro. Kulen also has his own studio for carpet design, Kurato. He was educated at Amsterdam’s Gerrit Rietveld Academie. 

Drew Gilbert, design manager at OBMI

Originally hailing from the US, Drew Gilbert is an award-winning architect and futurist that lives in Dubai. He is a design manager at architecture firm OBMI. His work fuses technology and design with respects to site, climate and cultural aspects, producing responsive, timeless design solutions. Gilbert is committed to a brighter future and advocates for sustainable design strategies.  

Filip Milovanovic, design director at Yabu Pushelberg

Filip Milovanovic sits at the helm of Yabu Pushelberg’s architecture division in Toronto, guiding abstract ideas into forward-thinking, thoughtful design. Grounded with a global perspective, Milovanovic leads a collective of designers to imagine the Yabu Pushelberg brand through architecture, interior design, volumetric study and conceptual design. He was trained at Ryerson University’s School of Interior Design and the University of Toronto, and has previously worked for Bjarke Ingels Group and Snøhetta.

Isabelle Marie Kievenheim, head of store development at & Other Stories

Having worked within the H&M Group for more than 10 years, Isabelle Marie Kievenheim currently heads the store development team at & Other Stories. She has an academic background in architecture and started her career in architectural firms. She merges that passion with her love for fashion. Kievenheim enjoys people together to jointly envision and create spaces and experiences that manifest and celebrate what & Other Stories – headquartered in Stockholm – stands for.

Jai Kumaran, partner at West of West

Jai Kumaran is an architect and the founding partner of Los Angeles- and Portland-based practice West of West. He is a dynamic collaborator recognized for his design expertise and commitment to working closely with clients to develop innovative architecture. His goal is to elevate everyday architecture where we live and work by seamlessly integrating art, design, and technology to create buildings that are beautiful, functional and sustainable.

Juan Alberto Andrade, architect and designer, and architectural photographer at JAG Studio

Ecuadorian architect Juan Alberto Andrade specializes in architecture, photography, and communications. Together with Cuqui Rodríguez, he runs photography company JAG Studio and designs under his own name. Andrade graduated as an architect in 2016 from Universidad Espíritu Santo and is currently getting a Master’s degree in communications at Universidad Casa Grande. He has participated as a lecturer and jury nationwide and internationally, sharing experiences between photography and  architecture.

Weiping Lin, founder and director of Lin Wei Ping Design Consulting Co.

Weiping Lin founded his Ningbo, China, studio – Lin Wei Ping Design Consulting Co. – in 2008 and acts as the chief design director. The team has rich experience in commercial projects and residential projects. Lin engaged in advanced studies of design at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Bauhaus University and Tsinghua University. Now, he is working as the interior design consultant of the Ningbo Center (the tallest building in Zhejiang, China), and the chief designer of the Ningbo Center sales centre and River ONE model home.

Liyu Xue, founder of STAAY

An architect and artist based in Los Angeles, Liyu Xue received his Master of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute, where he additionally studied performance and fine art. In 2022, Xue established STAAY, a studio with a unique focus on experiential design, interior design, curation, and public art. In a span of just over a year, he has turned STAAY into a design powerhouse, forging partnerships with high-profile clients, event agencies, and community organizations, including Netflix, Square, Quickbooks, Breakthrough Energy, DTLA Arts District, and beyond.

Llisa Demetrios, chief curator of the Eames Institute

The youngest granddaughter of Ray and Charles Eames, Llisa Demetrios is a third-generation maker that follows in the footsteps of her grandparents’ creative legacy. She leads the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity, a non-profit public charity that aims to equip everyone with the lessons of Ray and Charles Eames, so that anyone can solve problems through design. A bronze sculptor herself, Demetrios has previous experience as an archivist at the MoMA and registrar at Eames Office, and is on the Board of Directors for the Petaluma Arts Center in California.

Luca Macrì, architect and partner at Lamatilde

Luca Macrì is one of the founders of Turin-based architecture studio Lamatilde, which he began in 2010 to delve into design research. His work explores the connection between interiors and exteriors, intertwining shapes and elements drawn from both contexts. After interior design professorships at Dongduk University in Seoul and BAU in Barcelona, he currently teaches at NABA in Milan (MA in Interior Design) and IAAD in Turin (Spatial Design).

Ludmila Ayres Machado, creative director and designer at Aurora Design

Aurora Design creative director and designer Ludmila Ayres Machado started her career in graphic design for theatre and cinema. Over the years, she migrated from two-dimensional representation formats to the three-dimensional space of scenography and art direction for advertisement and feature films. More recently, the São Paulo creative has gone on to conceive and design spaces and sets for musical concerts and TV Music Awards for networks like Nickelodeon, MTV and Brazil’s Multishow.

Luke Han, founder and design director of Hope Design

A commercial space branding expert with 15 years of experience in the architecture and interior design fields, Luke Han focuses on strategic collaboration design over several sectors. Founder and design director of Hope Design – a Shenzhen studio – Han works with his team to create distinctive, user-centric spatial experiences for consumers using a variety of cross-border thinking and artistic aesthetic methods, in order to maximize brand value.

Marcel Häusler, head of design at Karl Anders - Contemporary Branding

Graphic designer Marcel Häusler operates the Paris branch of German studio Karl Anders - Contemporary Branding. Häusler’s work has been awarded in categories including advertising, branding and design. The 25-strong Karl Anders team has worked with brands such as Congstar, ECE, Hamburger Hochbahn, Red Star FC, Tishman Speyer, Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and Vitra, and takes on various pro-bono projects. 

Mark Timo, interior designer and founder and host of De Interieur Club

A resident of Amsterdam Mark Timo is an interior designer and known as the host of De Interieur Club Podcast. De Interieur Club is a Dutch platform for interior and design professionals – it is the most popular Dutch podcast in the design category and network genres. In September 2023, Timo will launch a rug collection in collaboration with MOMO Rugs. 

Michelle Smith, associate interior designer at M Moser Associates

Part of M Moser Associates’ Amsterdam team, Michelle Smith is an associate interior designer with over 12 years’ experience. She has worked across numerous sectors in Australia, Singapore, UK, France and Netherlands. Blending design principles from this experience, Smith produces innovative workplace solutions that focus on the end user’s needs. She has a bachelor in built environment studies from Queensland University of Technology.  

Terry Xu, chief designer at Rationale International — Masanori Design Studio, founder of Masanori Art and cofounder of Talent Union

Not limited to a specific style, Terry Xu’s work is based on architectural thinking. As the chief designer of Rationale International — Masanori Design Studio in Chinese city Guangzhou, Xu develops unique design solutions by integrating aesthetics and technology, and striking a balance between interiors, people and nature.  

Yuan Jiang, cofounder of Soda

Soda cofounder Yuan Jiang has been exploring the pattern and application of media space since 2016, and pursues new dimensions of spatial design to uncover possibilities in connecting people with each other and places. His clients include BMW, Bvlgari, Nestle, Pomellato and the National Museum of China. The Beijing-based designer also worked on projects with Ateliers Jean Nouvel during a residency in Paris.

Yuanman Huang, cofounder and creative designer at GS Design

Yuanman Huang entered the design industry in 2008 and cofounded office GS Design in 2015. Approaching design artistically, the Shenzhen practice is committed to providing customers with professional and high-quality design services, including the spatial and interior decoration design of boutique hotels, real estate, commercial, offices, clubs and villas.
