Songzio Flagship Paris

Hypnos XP

Songzio’s creative director and Hypnos XP collaborated on the design of the Songzio Flagship Paris (Single-Brand Store). The brutalist-inspired building contrasts with its Haussmanian surroundings in the city’s Le Marais neighbourhood. The floorplan was previously segmented and was unified via a poured concrete staircase. Textured concrete dominates the space and is softened with black oakwood and raw steel features.

The Hive

Casper Schwarz Architects

The Strawinsky House, a 1970s-era office building in Amsterdam, has been redeveloped into an open and transparent venue, The Hive (Large Office). Casper Schwarz Architects designed the interior of the workspaces, hospitality areas and restorative spaces. Developed for a legal firm, the occupant required rooms instead of a fully open floorplan to enable confidentiality but sought to allow for openness and collaboration in the work environment. A 3D-printed element in the atrium contains a meeting room. Designed in close collaboration with Aectual, the façade of the structure allows daylight in but limits visibility, embodying the architect’s approach to the workspace.

Gempot

Projject

Located on Aranya, China’s riverbank, among the city’s characteristic low-rise white-hued buildings Gempot is a restaurant designed by Projject (Restaurant). Drawing on the concept of a curio box, the restaurant’s interior and its layout are segmented to nurture intrigue and surprise throughout the guest experience. Volumes comprising the kitchen, bar and dining zones are interconnected through staircases, corridors and lighting, fostering discovery for its visitors.

Moment Boutique Store

Modum Atelier

Situated in a historic architectural complex in Cinnalane, Nanjing, China, Moment Boutique Store draws heavily on the design vernacular of its surroundings (Single-Brand Store). Modum Atelier overcame the space’s narrow footprint by transforming the exterior corridor into an open one, connecting the courtyard with the adjacent street, serving to expand the interior but also connect the store to passersby. Following this design logic, the interior is designed as a series of interconnected corridors and pavilions to encourage exploration, using a gentle colour and material palette along with ample windows and mirrors.

She Log Brand Culture Experience Showroom

Leaping Creative

Chinese skincare brand She Log commissioned Leaping Creative for the design of its Culture Experience Showroom in Guangzhou (Showroom). Drawing on the brand’s use of plant-based and natural ingredients, the designer incorporated an exhibition called ‘The Journey of Seeking Rare Matsutake Mushrooms’, featuring large mushroom-shaped elements. In addition to a multifunctional brand lounge, a tea room, restaurant and meditation room complete the experience.
