Monthly and yearly jury reviews
FRAME Awards 2025 comprises both yearly and monthly awards competitions with jury voting beginning at the start of February and finishing at the end of September 2025. Each month, Jury Reviews will be held to determine winners at the end of each calendar month. The yearly awards competition will begin with the 2025 Shortlist Announcement, published between 8-10 October 2025. Grand Jury Sessions will take place at the end of October to determine yearly winners, which will be announced at a live Winner Announcement Ceremony and celebration on 5 November 2025 at Workspace Design Show in Amsterdam.
Voting process and criteria
The voting procedure remains largely the same, with jury members evaluating each submission based on the same four criteria: Innovation, Functionality, Creativity and Eco-Social Impact (renamed from Sustainability, more information below).
We introduce a new badge element to give a better visual representation of the corresponding numerical score outside of the scoring widget. Each project will be marked with a badge that aligns with a specific score range. Jury members will score each category from a minimum score of 6.0 to a maximum score of 10.0, to the tenth of the point (i.e. 7.5, previously 7.50). From lowest to highest, scored submissions will be marked as Bronze (6.0-6.9), Silver (7.0-7.9), Gold (8.0-8.9), and Platinum (9.0-10.0) badges, on the submission’s thumbnail on the homepage and at the top of each submission webpage. Total scores will be visible in the jury voting widget on each submission page, with scores rounded to the nearest half-point. In the event of a multi-way tie, the detailed scoring of the jury (i.e. the unrounded scores) will be used to determine a winner.
Though the criteria that each submission is judged on has remained unchanged in substance, we’ve renamed the Sustainability category to Eco-Social Impact. Jury members will judge this criterion as such: does the design positively impact (the wellbeing of) people, communities, and the planet by addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges?
New submission categories
In an effort to ensure that FRAME Awards is at the forefront of recognizing relevant spaces and products, we've brought back one sub-category and introduce two new ones as follows:
Product - Sanitary: Fixtures and furnishings for bathroom and kitchen spaces, including but not limited to taps and faucets, toilets, washbasins, baths and shower units.
Retail - Showroom: Specialty retail spaces designed to showcase products – ranging from cars to furniture to materials – for inspiration and exploration. While sales may occur, the primary focus is on presenting brand identity and offering customers an in-depth interaction with products.
Institutions - Mobility Space: Mobility and transit spaces, including metro, bus, boat, and train stations; airport terminals and lounges; automotive charging or gas stations; and bike and car parking facilities.
