Every week we highlight those submissions which have been frequented by our readers and jury. Below are the five most-viewed projects between 9 and 16 September 2022. Some of these entries may look familiar to you, as we are currently underway in the judging period for the annual Frame Awards 2022 accolades, which brings together projects that have been submitted through the year. 1. THE FLOWING GARDEN

More Than Arch Studio

Built as a shared family home for two brothers, The Flowing Garden Home comprises two separate residential spaces and common areas for gathering (House, Material: 7.73, 7.27). The project, designed by More Than Arch Studio, has been shortlisted in two categories: House of the Year and Best Use of Material. The home is located on the coast of Southeastern China and is built around several courtyards with local plant species to connect the home to its surrounding nature and temperate climate. Concrete and wood are used in balance throughout the home.

2. FLOATING HOME

i29

Located in the north of Amsterdam is the Floating Home, a houseboat part of the Schoonschip village (Kitchen, 6.94). Shortlisted for Kitchen of the Year, i29 designed the home to maximize the space inside the home with a relatively small footprint. A pitched roof with a diagonal roof coping helps to give more interior space and a unique exterior feature. The atrium connects all three floors of the house including the kitchen which, like the rest of the home, benefits from ample natural daylight because of extensive glazing.

3. 181 FREMONT PENTHOUSE

Mass Beverly

Submitted in the Light, Colour, Bathroom, Kitchen, Large Apartment, Show Flat categories, is the 181 Fremont Penthouse designed by Mass Beverly. The San Francisco home has been shortlisted for Kitchen of the Year and Bathroom of the Year. The penthouse apartment occupies the entire top floor of the 56-storey apartment building. The apartment was designed around its unique views with its open floor plan layout ensuring vistas from any part of the space.

4. SCOPE MICRO-ARCHITECTURE

Design for Human Nature

Design for Human Nature created the Scope Micro-Architecture, a scalable, modular office furniture system which allows for users to create their ideal working space (Furniture; 7.76). The furniture system has been shortlisted as Furniture of the Year and is made of folded sheet steel, wool, recycled-PET, and rubber. Angled 60-degree fragments form constellations allowing pieces to be freely combined with one another for workshops, team sessions or individual work. The system is composed of the Roundtable, Bench-Desk, Transformation-Wall, and more to create bespoke solutions at any moment.

5. DENTISTA

i29

Dentista, an Amsterdam-based dentist’s office, was designed by i29, drawing inspiration from wellness spaces (Colour, Healthcare Centre; 6.93, 7.39). The space is shortlisted in two categories as Healthcare Centre of the Year and Best Use of Colour. Green surfaces and plant life are applied generously throughout to create a soothing environment while still maintaining medical professionalism. A central courtyard and skylights in examination rooms provides patients with a connection to nature.
