Championing folk arts movements, a London pub embraces slow hospitality

  4. A 10-m central timber bar acting as a counter, kitchen bench and dining table, grounds the spatial layout. - Rory Gardiner
  5. The interior is dotted with custom furniture by carpenter DiSe, all fabricated from the same oak tree as the bar. - Rory Gardiner
  6. The century-old tree's history is laid bare, with its cracks and gnarled bark ingraining the passage of time into the bar’s contemporary seating and tables. - Rory Gardiner
  7. Artist Lucy Stein’s hand-painted hessian curtains cozily embrace the space, complementing her handiwork on the central bar’s lantern-like light. - Rory Gardiner
  8. Furnishings honour multicultural craftspeople and materiality, with bespoke stools and lights comprising Japanese hemp fibre paper, hand-casted Italian glass, volcanic stone and oxidized brass. - Rory Gardiner
