Israeli industrial designer Daniel Glazman is a graduate of the Bezalel Arts and Design Academy, Israel.
For his first model of the three-legged Clamped Stool, Glazman used a clamp to hold two boards together. In the final design, the entire form is held together by a clamp that doubles as the third leg.
‘The concept was born after I looked at DIY furniture and thought it wasn’t so simple to assemble,’ Glazman recalls. ‘There was more desperation than satisfaction in the assembly process.’
He says he wanted to design a stool that would be held on a single joint and would be easy and intuitive to assemble. According to Glazman, the process included six models before finalizing the Clamped Stool design.
