Cappellini Reopens Milan Flagship

BOOKMARK ARTICLE

Italian brand Cappellini has reopened their revamped Milan showroom at Via Santa Cecilia 4.

Cappellini has a continuing theme at each of their flagship locations that are painted in one monochromatic hue – blue in Los Angeles, red in New York and purple in Paris. The renovated Milan interior is yellow, inspired by the city’s trams, taxis, saffron risotto and building façades.

‘It’s a tone that has always been part of the Cappellini colour palette,’ says Guilio Cappellini, who led the two-month reconstruction of the showroom. ‘Our new interiors have been redesigned to respond more closely to the taste of today’s architects and designers.’

Currently showing is the Homage to Shiro exhibition, a tribute to Japanese architect Shiro Kuramata who has frequently collaborated with Cappellini. It includes iconic products which Kuramata designed – many are still part of the Cappellini catalogue – plus sketches and rare prototypes.
