Officially released on 14 January, Marjolijn Mandersloot’s first portfolio book was presented at the opening of a solo exhibition of her work at the Jan van Hoof Galerie in ‘s Hertogenbosch. The exhibition will run from 12 January till 16 February 2014.

Mandersloot’s prevailing ideal of physical beauty inspires a constant examination of a world of cute creatures. By means of ambiguous material choices – plastic, leather, rubber, textile or foam insulation – she encourages us to think about our own identity through installations that have soft touches mingled with robust bronze or polished aluminium.
